Carolina Gymnastics Academy offers active and structured after-school care in Wilmington, NC, for students in kindergarten through 5th grade.
We provide school pickups from Bellamy, Codington, Pine Valley, Masonboro, and Holly Tree Elementary Schools.
Each afternoon includes a coach-led gymnastics free play session to help kids stay strong, confident, and moving.
Students also spend time outside running, climbing, and playing organized games before settling into quiet, supervised homework time.
It’s a healthy, balanced routine that keeps children active, focused, and screen-free during their afternoon hours, so you can finish your day knowing they’re in great hands.

When school ends but your workday doesn’t, you need a place where your child can stay safe, active, and engaged. At Carolina Gymnastics Academy, our after-school care program provides kids with a healthy outlet to move, play, and unwind in a fun and structured environment. With coach-led supervision, outdoor activity, and no screens, it’s the kind of afternoon both kids and parents appreciate.
Program Details
- Tuition: $102.50 per week
- Annual Registration Fee: $50 per family (holds your child’s spot)
- Grades: Kindergarten – 5th Grade
- Hours: From school dismissal until 6:00 PM
- Transportation Provided From: Bellamy, Codington, Pine Valley, Masonboro, and Holly Tree Elementary
Schools
A Typical Afternoon
When students arrive, they place their backpacks in the after-school building and head straight into the gym for supervised free play. They are allowed to enjoy the bars, beams, trampolines, and mats, but toys and electronics stay in backpacks.
After gym time, kids head outside for active play, weather permitting, until after 5:00 PM. We also provide a calm window of time for homework, supported by staff. While we help children stay on task, we do not provide one-on-one tutoring. After 5:00 PM or on rainy days, children transition indoors for games, books, toys, crafts, and other creative activities.
Snacks
Children may bring a snack from home. With parent permission, snacks can also be purchased at the gym and will be billed monthly to your account.
Behavior Expectations
We maintain a respectful and positive environment. Students are expected to follow the rules:
- No hitting, touching, or inappropriate language
- No backtalk to staff
- No damaging or defacing equipment
- No electronics use during program hours
If there is a behavior issue, we will inform you at pickup. Ongoing issues may result in removal from the program.
Communication Guidelines
Please do not allow your child to call or text you during after-school care. All phones, tablets, and smartwatches must remain in backpacks. If we need to reach you, we will call you directly. If you need to send a message to your child, please contact the front desk, and we will relay it.
Parent Responsibilities
You must be reachable while your child is in our care. If your child becomes sick or is injured, you (or someone you authorize) must pick them up promptly.
If your child is absent or a car rider, please email us before pickup time. We cannot leave the school until all children are accounted for.
Pickup is no later than 6:00 PM. Please arrive on time.
Weekly tuition is charged every Friday for the upcoming week. A valid credit card with sufficient funds is required on file. If payment fails, you will be notified and must update your card immediately.
Since your tuition reserves a space on the bus and in the program, we do not prorate for vacations or missed days. Tuition is adjusted only when the gym is closed for major holidays, like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break.
Camp Days
Teacher Workdays are designated All-Day Camp Days. These require online registration in advance.
- Camp Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Camp Fee: $72 per day
Weekly tuition will be prorated when a camp day falls during the same week.
Additional Notes
We do not provide care during Codington Intersession. Please make alternate arrangements for those dates.
In the event of weather-related school closures, Carolina Gymnastics Academy may also close. No refunds or credits will be issued for missed days due to weather emergencies.
